Shri Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav

Shri Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav is a prominent politician associated with the Shiv Sena party, representing the Buldhana constituency in Maharashtra. He was born on November 25, 1960, in Mehkar, Buldhana district. Prataprao hails from the Maratha community and completed his education up to the second year of a Bachelor of Arts at Shri Shivaji College, Chikhili​.

Political Career

Prataprao’s political journey began when he was elected as the Sarpanch (village head) of his native village. He served as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 1995 to 2009. During this time, he held the position of State Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Irrigation from 1997 to 1999

In 2009, he was elected to the Lok Sabha and has successfully retained his seat in subsequent elections in 2014, 2019, and 2024

As a Member of Parliament, Prataprao has chaired important committees, including the Standing Committee on Rural Development and the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology

In June 2024, he was appointed as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, while also holding an independent charge in the Ministry of AYUSH​.

Personal Life

Prataprao is married to Rajashri Prataprao Jadhav, who is involved in farming and business. They have two children: a son, Rushi Jadhav, who is also a politician, and a daughter, Namrata Jadhav

He actively engages in community service, focusing on education for underprivileged children, particularly girls, and implementing welfare policies for farmers. He organizes various community events, including health camps and sports sponsorships​.
