Shri Ananta Nayak is a prominent Indian politician affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was born on May 1, 1969, in Langalakanti, Keonjhar district, Odisha. Nayak holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from D.D. College in Keonjhar and B.O.S.E. in Cuttack. He worked as an engineer at Steel Authority of India Limited (RSP) before transitioning into politics.
Political Career
Nayak made his political debut by winning his first election to the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999, representing the Keonjhar constituency. He was re-elected to the 14th Lok Sabha, securing his position in 2004. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has served on various committees, including:
- Committee on Industry
- Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Human Resource Development
- Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
- Committee on Labour
- Committee on Railways.
In addition to his parliamentary roles, he was appointed as a member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes in February 2021, a key position that influences policies affecting tribal communities in India.
