Priya Saroj, a prominent figure in the Samajwadi Party, is a young and dynamic politician representing the Machhlishahr constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Born on August 31, 1998, in Varanasi, she is currently 26 years old and has quickly risen through the ranks of Indian politics.

Educational Background and Early Career: Priya completed her schooling at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University. She later obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Amity University, Noida, in 2022. During her academic journey, she actively engaged in socialist movements, which shaped her political ideology and commitment to social justice​.

Political Journey: Priya entered the political arena influenced by her family’s legacy; her father, Tufani Saroj, is a well-known politician who has served as an MP and is currently an MLA. In 2024, she contested and won the Lok Sabha elections from Machhlishahr, making her one of the youngest members of parliament in India She defeated the BJP candidate B.P. Saroj by a margin of 35,850 votes, marking a significant victory for the Samajwadi Party​ This election made her the first woman to represent Machhlishahr in the Lok Sabha​
