Dr. Mahesh Sharma

Dr. Mahesh Sharma, a prominent figure in Indian politics, was born on September 30, 1959, in Manethi, Alwar district, Rajasthan. Raised in a spiritual family with a farming background, he pursued his education in Delhi and earned his MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences & Safdarjung Hospital. His career began as a general physician, and he later established Kailash Hospitals, a chain of multi-specialty hospitals, to address the lack of healthcare infrastructure in Noida and surrounding areas.

Dr. Sharma entered politics with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), first serving as an MLA from Noida (2012-2014). In 2014, he became the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. He has held significant positions in the central government, including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, and Environment, and Minister of State for Civil Aviation.

In addition to his political achievements, Dr. Sharma has been actively involved with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP’s Medical Cell. He is known for his philanthropy through the Kailash Charitable Trust, organizing free medical camps for the underprivileged. He has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions to healthcare and public service.

On a personal front, Dr. Sharma is married to Dr. Uma Sharma, a gynecologist, and they have two children. His family plays a significant role in managing the Kailash Hospitals​.
