Baijayant pursued his education at prestigious institutions, including St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and the University of Southern California, where he obtained a degree in business administration. Before entering politics, he had a successful career in the business sector, particularly in media and aviation.

Baijayant’s political career began with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), where he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kendrapara in 2009 and successfully re-elected in 2014.
