Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu is a prominent Indian politician and a key member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Born on December 18, 1987, in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, he is the son of the late K. Yerran Naidu, a notable politician who served as Union Minister for Rural Development in the United Front government.
Education and Early Life
Rammohan pursued his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, followed by an MBA from Long Island University in the United States. His educational background has contributed to his analytical approach to politics.
Political Career
Rammohan Naidu entered politics following the tragic death of his father in a car accident in 2012. He made his electoral debut in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, winning the Srikakulam constituency at the age of 26, which made him one of the youngest Members of Parliament (MP) at that time. He has since been re-elected, securing a significant victory in the recent 2024 elections with a margin of over 327,000 votes
In June 2024, Rammohan was appointed as a Union Minister, making him the youngest ever to hold this position His tenure has been marked by active participation in various parliamentary committees, including those focused on agriculture, railways, and home affairs. He received the Sansad Ratna award in 2020 for his performance as an MP.
