Shri Bidyut Baran Mahato

Shri Bidyut Baran Mahato, born on February 15, 1963, in Krishnapur, Seraikela Kharsawan, Jharkhand, is a prominent Indian politician affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently serving as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Jamshedpur constituency, a position he has held since 2014. His political journey began earlier when he was elected to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from the Baharagora constituency, serving from 2009 to 2014​

Education and Early Career: Mahato attended Tata College in Chaibasa, where he completed his Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) education. Before entering politics, he worked as an agriculturist, leveraging his background in agriculture to connect with the local community​

Political Career: Mahato initially aligned with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha but later joined the BJP in 2014. He made a significant impact in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, winning the Jamshedpur seat and subsequently being re-elected in 2019​ His tenure in the Lok Sabha has seen him involved in various committees, including the Standing Committee on Industry and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Steel and Mines​

Personal Life: Mahato is married to Smt. Usha Mahato, and they have two children. He remains deeply rooted in his constituency, engaging in social work and community development initiatives​

In the 2024 elections, Mahato achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first candidate to win the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat three times consecutively​(
