Sasikanth Senthil

Sasikanth Senthil is an Indian politician currently affiliated with the Indian National Congress (INC). Before entering politics, he had a notable career as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Born in 1979, Senthil graduated with a degree in engineering and joined the IAS in 2009, serving in various roles, including deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka. He became known for his strong stance on governance issues, including his vocal opposition to corruption and his work in fighting illegal activities such as sand mining​

Senthil resigned from the IAS in 2019, citing concerns about the democratic fabric of the country. His decision to leave the civil service was driven by ethical concerns, as he felt that continuing in the service would be inappropriate under the prevailing political climate​(

Following his resignation, Senthil joined the Indian National Congress in 2020. He played a pivotal role in the Congress’s victory in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, leading strategic campaigns such as the “PayCM” initiative, which targeted corruption allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. His efforts in Karnataka helped solidify his position as a key strategist within the Congress​.
